Many talk about the need to lead a healthy life, to have healthy eating habits and to do something that lowers the risk of diseases. More or less, we all know what that means. Running, but also any other physical activity burns calories and contributes to health. Do not get discouraged at the same beginning if you don’t have any results. Every new positive habit in your life should be done gradually, because only in thus you can achieve long-term benefit of all those procedures.
Changing your eating routine is the basic of reducing the level of harmful cholesterol and the total cholesterol, thus you reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Usually the high cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood are the ones who are responsible for most of the modern diseases. This does not mean that you have to give up al fatty foods, but you need to choose those fats that are not saturated.
Those are: fatty meat, animal skin, full-fat milk products, coconut and palm oil. Trans fatty acids, same as saturated fats, can increase the cholesterol level in the blood. The margarine produced from hydrogenated vegetable oil or fat, also increases the level of LDL cholesterol, and many snacks, cookies and crackers contain it.
A nutrition that is low in saturated fat is a good way to start a healthy lifestyle, which means:
- Reduction of LDL cholesterol and the total cholesterol TC
- Improving blood circulation
- Reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and other changes in the blood-vessels.
