People experience a host of emotions. Human emotions are really complex. The emotions are reaction of people`s positive or negative experiences. Interesting thing about them is that different emotions affect the body in different way. As a result of different emotions our bodies release different chemicals. For example when we experience pleasant situations in our life and when we are happy the brain releases serotonin- or the hormone of happiness. But when we are under pressure and stress the brain releases cortisol which is also known as “the stress hormone”, this hormone is also associated with anxiety.
Do you wonder what happens in our body when we have negative thoughts all the time, or when we have positive thoughts all the time? Or maybe you want to know more about what happens when we have no emotion? Well in the following text we will talk more about that.
Positive vs. Negative
Are the things in this world sharply divided in negative and positive, or the same things can sometimes be considered as positive and sometimes as negative. While we are thinking about this distinction and whether to consider something as positive or negative the brain already creates emotions on its own for particular thing or situation. The question about whether the things are positive and negative or we define them as such has been asked many times. Let illustrate this. Think about a driver that is cut off and he suddenly gets mad and his all day is ruined filled with negative emotions. And then think about another driver that is also cut off but doesn`t pay attention to it and goes on with no emotions like nothing happened. This is an example that the same experience can affect people in differed way.
Cut The Perceptions As Much As Possible
So from the above we can conclude that there is no positive or negative experience, it is only how we see things. The perception is the most powerful thing that makes us feel differently and affects our bodies in a different way. The thing is that we can work on our perception and change the way we see things. We can learn to accept the things as they are and be grateful for having that experience. Therefore it is good to know how different emotions affect our bodies.
“If someone wishes for good health, one must first ask oneself if he is ready to do away with the reasons for his illness. Only then is it possible to help him.” ~ Hippocrates
