Once You Read This, You’ll Never go to Starbucks Again

Since its first café in Washington, Starbucks has become a cultural icon worldwide. Now, Starbucks shops are everywhere, and you are literally not able to take a walk without passing by one of them. That is why people turn to Starbucks beverages each time they feel tired or worn down.

However, Starbucks is definitely not one of the best choices you can make. As a matter of fact, by filling its budget with your money, you are contributing to efforts which are against your beliefs. Keep reading and learn why you should avoid Starbuck and never consume its drinks again.

How Starbucks Misleads Consumers

At first sight, Starbucks seems to be an environmentally-friendly company whose main goal is to provide its customers with the best products. Moreover, they claim that they used ethically sourced coffee, a goal they hope to fulfill in 2015.

Not long ago, Starbucks even eliminated the usage of high fructose corn syrup from their drinks. By looking at the surface, it seems that Starbucks is one of the companies whose visions of the future are the same as you have. However, it is a complexly different story behind the scenes.

Starbucks And Its Ties to GMO Companies

Financially speaking, over the past two years Starbucks has been one of the biggest supporters of efforts to block GMO labels in Washington and California. When Vermont enacted a GMO labeling bill, Starbucks and GMA sued the state and sent message to other states that were considering the labeling bills.

As a matter of fact, Starbucks has spent over $70 million in the fight against GMO labeling bills, only in the last two years. The executive of this company probably believe that you don’t deserve to know what their food is made of. They seem concerned about their consumers and they preach about sustainability and knowing what is in your food. However, their legislative lobbying tells completely different story in which their real priorities are perfectly portrayed.

Moreover, Starbucks uses antibiotic-laced milk from cows that were fed GMOs, even though their loyal consumers have indicated that they would appreciate seeing organic milk at Starbucks, even for paying a little extra for organic milk.

Unfortunately, Starbucks doesn’t seem to bother with this feedback, and it continues to use conventional milk, even for the price of customers` health.

Cutting Off Starbucks for Good

So far, it is clear that Starbuck`s executives only care about its bottom line and that they are the same as all other large corporations.  The healthy ingredients and ethical sourcing are used only as a trap with the only purpose of drawing in more consumers.

As a matter of fact, the only thing Starbucks cares about are the relations with other food companies worldwide. Losing support of these huge food companies would result in a huge financial hit for the coffee mogul. So, don’t be surprised if you soon see Starbucks` support GMO labeling.

The best thing you can do is to cut off Starbucks right away. In fact, by buying Starbucks` drinks you are actually donating money to organizations that bully GMO labeling movements. You can enjoy in a coffee bough in a small local coffee shop instead.  You will doubly benefit from this- buying your favorite coffee and avoid the sense of guilt.

Another thing you can do is to sign petitions as well as taking part in movements which encourage Starbucks to change their stance on GMO labeling. If the consumers put enough pressure, they may even manage to convince them to change the stance.
