Many people have cracked heels, which can be a simply cosmetic issue or even a painful condition. We all agree that they are unpleasant to the eye, since they are visible, but they also can be even very painful.
The most usual symptoms are thick callus that looks like yellow or brown discolored piece of the skin, particularly along the inside border, and dry skin. But, the problem is that this can be much more than just a dry and thickened skin, but also some redness, inflammations, itching and peeling skin may appear. It is recommended that you take some measures and take care of the problem as soon as it appears, so that you prevent cracks to get deeper and cause pain and even bleeding.
WHAT CAUSES DRY CRACKED HEELS?
The problem of having dry and cracked heels is quite frequent. It is also known as heel fissures. Most of the time and for most people, it is only a cosmetic issue, but if you do not treat this problem in time, it can progress and cause even more serious cracks. This can be quite painful and it may lead to infections. Some of the reasons that cause the dry, cracked heels most often are:
- aging
- improper foot care
- poor diet, malnutrition
- some skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis
- dry skin caused by lack of moisture
- being over-weight (because this increases the level of pressure on fat pad under the heel)
- other health conditions including thyroid issues and diabetes
- prolonged and frequent standing on hard surfaces
often times the cracked feet are caused by an improper foot care, a bad and unhealthy diet, aging, dry air, lack of moisture, prolonged standing on hard floors and surfaces, and last, but not least, wearing improper footwear. In addition, the problem can also be a result of other health conditions and issues like psoriasis, eczema, and diabetes and thyroid disease.
In the following text we will present you an easy and simple home remedy that can help you efficiently in getting rid of the problem of cracked heels, corns and calluses. It is very beneficial and the results are visible in less than two weeks.
Procedure:
You will need ten Andols (acetaminophen) or Aspirins (acetylsalicylic acid). Next, you should crush these ten pills and make a powder out of them. Mix the powder with 250 milliliters of 70 percent rubbing alcohol. After you have done this, put the solution in a small glass bottle and then let it stay aside for one day or two.
When these two days have passed, every night, before you go to sleep, first shake the bottle before using it, and then pour some of the solution on a cotton or gauze pad. Next, apply the pad on the affected area, wrap a plastic foil around your heel and put on a sock.
Leave the remedy to work overnight and then, in the morning, once you get up, rinse your heel with water and then dry it with a towel.
When you are done doing that take a greasy or a glycerin cream and apply it on your feet. It would be even better if you used a foot scrubber and exfoliated your heels before you apply the cream.
Ten to fifteen treatments later, you will notice that the callus and cracked skin on your feet has totally disappeared.
You can also use this remedy for treating varicose and painful veins, and if you do, you will notice that this wonderful remedy will reduce the pain even after the first few treatments.
