A survey that was conducted recently came to conclusion that even 48% of the parents have noticed this symptom in their children eyes but the thing is that only few of them thought that it is something that deserves attention. This fact needs to be changed and the public needs to be informed more about this condition because it can cost someone a life. That’s why we decided to write this post and to inform you about these serious symptoms manifested in the children`s eyes.
Three year old boy took a random photo in which his aunt noticed something strange. His eye on the photo or his right pupil more precisely had a strange glow. She told this to the boy`s mother who thought that it was just a glow on the photo and that there is no problem with the boy`s health. However the aunt insisted that they go to the ophthalmologist where the he was diagnosed a shocking disease. The strange glow in the eye was caused by retinoblastoma which was present in the both eyes.
Luckily after four months of chemotherapy the tumors were reduced. We can say that his aunt saved his life by noticing the glow on the photo. The bad thing is that he will remain blind on his right eye permanently.
If we pay more attention every one of us can notice this and save someone`s life. Take photos with flash and if you notice any of the following signs consult your doctor immediately:
- One pupil on the photo is white and the other is red
- One pupil is red and the other is black
