There is an intestinal bacterium that has infected 2/3 of the population and it has been causing some problems for decades.
Have you heard of H Pylori, or Helicobacter Pylori? It is a tricky asymptomatic intestinal bacterium that is hard to detect without proper medical examination.
How Can You Tell?
It is also known for its embarrassing symptoms, which include burping, heartburn, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, esophageal reflux, flatulence and upper and mid-abdominal pain. Many people just think symptoms like this are normal bodily functions and don’t relate them to this bacterium.
H Pylori is the leading cause of gastritis, which is an inflammation of the stomach lining. This is responsible for nearly 80% of all gastric ulcers and 90% of all duodenal ulcers. H Pylori can also result in a number of non-digestive conditions, such as cardiovascular disorders, migraines and Raynaud’s disease, which is the impaired circulation in the hands and feet.
This bacterium could also cause anxiety and depression, because it causes a shortage of serotonin in the brain. This is why many people often feel uncomfortable in public places when this bacterium is floating around inside of them.
It Can Happen to Anyone
It can be very difficult to concentrate and manage a problem like this, especially when you have no clue what is going on inside of you. The spiral-shaped bacterium resides mainly in the stomach lining of humans and animals.
This is often not associated with issues like anxiety and depression. However, the bacterium works in sneaky ways and changes the way you feel without you giving it much thought.
Many people contract H Pylori by ingesting contaminated food or water. This can happen via fecal matter. If people prepare their food without washing their hands they could be at risk of contracting H Pylori.
Always make sure to check the conditions of any restaurant you eat at, as well as the cleanliness of your home. You do not want to walk around carrying this intestinal bacterium that could possibly disrupt your life.
What Can You do About it ?
On a positive note, 80% of cases that have had H Pylori were successfully irradiated. Antibiotics are also very useful in cases like this. Visit your doctor to get the proper prescription. In most cases antibiotics are not necessary, but for the sake of this issue it is best to seek medical attention.
Maintaining a good diet is also very important in order to keep this bacterium away from your stomach. Make sure to get plenty of vitamins A, C and E, along with zinc, all of which protect your stomach lining. You can also try probiotics like lactobacillus and bifidobacterium to protect you. And make sure you maintain good hygiene like washing your hands often, as well as drinking water from a safe source.
Be careful, and if you feel that you are at risk of contracting H Pylori contact your doctor and have a proper examination. You can never be too careful when it comes to problems like this, especially if they could cause a problem for your social or work life.
